BREAKING NEWS and a slightly older news story

First with the slightly older story. Last Sunday we (family within an hour of here) had a surprise party for Richard to celebrate his getting out of the navy. Here are some pictures from the shin-dig.

Now the BREAKING NEWS

It all began on a cool, overcast day. Nathan and I sat home. We played, he napped, I cleaned, he woke, we played . . . all the while his hair was in his eyes and down his back. I had NO CHOICE in the matter. Something had to be done . . . I gathered up some supplies . . .

and . . .

Nathan got his fist home haircut!!

setteling in

Hi there!
"We've got mail!" Yes that is right. We finally started receiving mail here. We had not gotten a piece since we got here until Monday. (except 2 pieces of junk mail - yes only 2 in 3-4 weeks!) I have NO IDEA what was going on with it. Things were being sent to Racine and back down to TX and being held at the TX post office. and . . . anyway - who cares?!? WE'VE GOT MAIL. To anyone who is unhappy with the postal service or doesn't like sorting through stacks of junk and bills - bite your tongue and be happy about it! (spoken, actually typed from the fingers of the one who had to plead not to have her water cut off and hurry to the water dept yesterday to pay the bill!) WE LIKE MAIL.
Speaking of mail, the first round of Christmas cards went out a few days ago. lol - sometimes you just have to sit back and laugh.

On a more important note - Richard and I (and Nathan, by default) have found a church that we are going to be attending regularly. You may know that a very difficult part of our move was leaving the wonderful church family we had at Racine Bible Church - so this is a huge step for this place beginning to feel like home.

I also am also in the process of possibly getting a VERY part-time job.

Please join us in prayer that God will continue to direct our paths and that He would reveal Himself to us in new ways everyday and bring us back to Him when we stray.

bye-4-now
ann

ps - this is the SNOW we got on my birthday!! even in TX that is going to follow me i guess!

let's see how this goes

Hi everyone!
As you may know, we will be letting our other website expire next month (feb) so this is the new one. Hopefully this one will be easier to use - thus will be updated slightly more regularly. :)
We are successfully moved into our new home just north of Austin TX. We did get hit by that ice storm that came through - not terrible though. No lost power or anything like that - just enough to keep everyone home for a few days. It wasn't a ton of ice or anything (don't get me wrong there was about 1/2 inch enveloping our car one day!) but they don't have anything here to take care of it - no salt whatsoever! No one even owns and ice pick or scraper! No one except for us that is . . .
You may have noticed that you haven't received a Christmas letter from us this year. No you are not kicked off the list - we fell a little bit behind w/ the move. They may or may not still be on the way. We'll just have to wait and see what happens when I find them all.
