back by popular demand!!

Sorry about the 'drought' of posts lately. Thank you to those of you who have asked for new pictures etc. it makes me feel loved. :-)

Nathan got Dada a kite for his birthday. We thought it would be a nice thing for them to do together. We took the kite out for the first time and only had two problems with the whole deal.

1- there wasn't really enough wind
2 - Nathan was terrified of the kite!

Have you ever known someone to be afraid of a kite??? I never have. But he really did not want to go to close to Dada with that kite in his hand. We even tried to get him to touch it when it was on the ground, so he could see that it was ok, just a piece of fabric. You would have thought it was a snake! Poor little guy. I did manage to snap a few pictures.

Here are Noah's latest "Friday pictures". (If you don't know what the means, refer to the post on June 3rd 08) You will notice he is holding his own toy here. :-) I am ONE proud Mama!!

Nathan really likes to copy anything that Richard and I do. He will stand like us, lean like us, repeat words after us, even take a drink from his cup if he sees one of us take a drink. It is VERY sweet - and a good reminder to be mindful of EVERY one of our actions / words! He also likes shoes. He always has liked shoes. You put the two togther (copying Dada, and love of shoes) and this is what you get:

Nathan also really likes to play "make believe" now. I love watching what his little mind comes up with. He will sit on anything and call it a boat and talk about the water around him. He will show us where "Mama and Dada and Noah" each sit and where "Big boy" (Nathan) sits. The boat game is one of his favorites. We will drive his 'boat' around scooting and screaching out "whoa!! Whoa Dada! Whoa Big Boy!"
He also likes to make his toys 'do' stuff. Here he is with his new cow (thank you Dad!) driving his tractor:

We dog sat for Aunt Carol's dog, Sophie the other day. I just thought this was too cute NOT to get a picture of. :) What a little helper!!

Happy Summer!

I really like to take time to reflect on and really celebrate Independence Day. It just really is important to me to remember to not take for granted all of the liberties we have in this country, what it was founded on, and all those who have fought to keep it that way.

I really feel a great need for prayer for our country - we are so far from the values of our founders. So far from our Christian roots - now government has to step around anything that might sound like it is 'religious'. Do you know that they used to open every meeting of Congress in prayer! (See www.wallbuilders.com for some really interesting, little know - seldom talked about history)
Would you just join me in praying for the spiritual well-being of our country? Pray that we can get our acts together and respect eachother as human beings all created by the same loving God who gave us each intrinsic value and worth.
On a lighter note - here are the boys in their red, white, & blue.

Yeah! double YEAH!!

YEAH #1:
What a wonderful blessing for all of us - Noah is doing SOOOO much better! He is pretty happy most of the time now. We get smiles and he can play and is 'talking' now. He has slowed down the spitting up to a 'normal' amount so now can tolerate more floor time and tummy time. This all makes me so very happy for him. It is so sad to see your baby hurting and not be able to help! Please pray that this will continue!

YEAH #2:
We started potty training Nathan yesterday (Monday) and today makes two full days with NO accidents! I am very excited, but know full well, that it may not 'stick' once we start actually leaving the house and getting back to normal activities. I also know that accidents are bound to happen. I do hope we are on the road to no more diapers (at least for one!).
