the blizzard of '09 (TX style!)

The boys had a great time getting bundled up to go "play in the snow"!

Mommy liked sitting by the fire!

and making some nice warm soup for us all to enjoy!

Thanksgiving in west TX (LOTS of family pictures!)

The boys had a great time riding on / sitting in the trucks at their cousin's house: And 'driving' the tractor:

Friends, cookies, and Thanksgiving celebrations!

Nathan's preschool (he goes twice per week), had a Thanksgiving luncheon. It was a great time! Here are the 3 year olds singing . . . most of them . . . Nathan did not - but he did stand really nicely! Lunch was so good he wanted to use both hands!

Nathan and his friend cut out sugar cookies and decorated them:

MMMMmmmm

Not much more to say about it. The pictures say it all. . .

musings of a 3 year old

This first one happened a while ago.
The boys and I went to a baseball game one night. On the way home we had this discussion about it . . .
Me: Nathan, did you like that baseball game?
Nathan: I DO like it, but not a lot. Just a little bit.
Me: What?
Nathan: I do like that baseball a little bit.
Me: I like it a lot. Why don't you like it a lot?
Nathan: I just like Wal-mart a lot.
Me: You like Wal-mart a lot??
Nathan: Wesss I do! They have toys there for me to play with.
Me: You can like both things a lot. Do you like Wal-mart AND baseball games a lot?
Nathan: (thinks for a minute) Wessss I do!
Me: We will go to more baseball games.
Nathan: No, I will just go to Wal-mart.
Me: Hunny, we can go to both. We will go to Wal-mart and to another baseball game.
Nathan: Mama - dat is so silly. I laughing at you.
Me: Why are you laughing at me?
Nathan: I laughing at you b/c you are so silly. There is no baseball game IN Wal-mart!!

And just last night this one at dinner time . . .
Nathan: Mama, why is the pizza so loud?
Me: Because I made it crispy.
Nathan: Please maybe don't put crispy on it next time. I just like it quiet.

what we have been up to

These are going to be in "reverse order" just because that is the way they uploaded, and it really is not easy to move them around. Sorry - just start at the bottom if you would like. :-)

Last night, the boys and I were going to watch a movie. (sesame street numbers, just in case you were wondering. the 1986 edition at that!!) Anyway - Nathan went over to the couch and put his feet on the ottoman and scuffled around the blanket, getting it 'just so' and telling me that he 'saved me a spot - right HERE' (pointing at the couch next to him). Noah, on the other hand - went straight to his throne. Given the option of "nap time" or "quiet time" Nathan normally picks "quiet time" and plays quietly in his play tent, and sometimes falls asleep. RARELY ever does he PICK 'nap time' - on this day he did b/c Gran had just left two days prior - and he wanted nothing more than to lay on "Gran's bed". What a sweet boy!!!

Dressed up like burritos for some free Chipotle dinner on Oct 31st!!

Nathan drving nails into some old wood . . . just seemed like a fun thing to do at a festival I guess. He liked it!

The boys and I had a great snack of Nachos and Cotton Candy!!! This was their first encounter w/ cotton candy - but I couldn't hardly eat it in front of them w/out sharing!!! They didn't know what to think about it at first, but warmed up to it quite nicely. :-)

Getting ready to go out to play! Nathan is a Physical Therapist and Noah is a doggie. Nathan also had a goniometer and pen to wear so that he could "measure people" and "do some notes"! I LOVE IT!!!!

Here are some pictures of our camping trip.
First tastes of toasted marshmallows:

The boys had a great time playing football together and trucks

Noah was helping Richard set up the tent. At one point he went and sat square in the middle of it. We realized, he was waiting for it to blow up - he thought it was going to be a bounce house! lol

Noah: "my mom is not right!"
