More than Flowers
I LOVE Mother's Day! I really really do! I am so thankful for the gift of being a mother. I really enjoy a whole day set to bring attention to the blessings of motherhood. Not so much a day about flowers, pampering and special treatment - but a day, that even when Nathan is screaming or not wanting to eat his lunch (both of which happened today) even then, I reflect on how blessed I am to have such a wonderful family.

It is a day to really pray about all of the dreams I have for our son, and for the new baby that we haven't even met yet. A day to reflect on what is truly important for our family, and re-focus where we have gotten off course. A day to appreciate that my own mom, once looked at me so small and had hopes and dreams for me. A time to realize, that I likely did not fulfill all of them, and that I probably broke her heart along the path of growing up a time or two - and I hope that she looks on now and is proud of the daughter that she has raised. I love you mom!
Oh what a wonderful day!

Latest baby report and some pictures to enjoy
We had an appointment this morning with my OB. Two weeks ago my amniotic fluids around the baby were in the low range of normal, this week they were lower still. I am still within the 'normal' range, but getting very close to the bottom - which is really weird b/c they were very high earlier in the pregnancy. Anyway the plan is that I really try to take it easy and go back next Thursday and she will check again. (Assuming the baby doesn't come before next Thursday). If they have dropped more, she is going to induce labor that day. If they are steady, she said that she is not comfortable with letting me go passed my due date. Incidentally, next Thursday is the 15th and my due date is the 18th. The 18th is a Sunday and she does not work on the weekends (she shares on-call with another OB who does all the weekends for her). SO the long and short of it is that if the baby doesn't come on his own before next Thursday we are looking at either having him on Thurs, Fri, or possibly Mon.

In the meantime, we ask that you would pray that my fluid levels would rise, or at the very least, not continue to fall. Really just that God would protect this baby and bring him safely to us at His perfect timing.
Now for the pictures I mentioned:
I took these of the magnolia trees in the front yard. I really like the flowers and they smell so sweet. As an interesting fact, the flowers close up every night and re-bloom in the morning. It really is beautiful.
Nathan was slow to wake up from his nap the other day and wanted to bring his blanket out into the living room with him. He went to his toy box and got some trucks to play with, as these are some of his favorite things to play with right now. Then he crawled up onto the couch and got comfortable, (remember he was still a little sleepy). And this is how I found him . . .
I don't know if he was snuggling the trucks or playing with them. :) What a sweet boy!
These were taken about a week ago. My belly just keeps getting bigger and bigger! It is so wonderful!

Still no baby yet
Just wanted to pop in and let you know that we are still waiting, and walking and walking and walking. :)
The baby's due date is May 18th. We are hoping for anyday now, but let's all remember that Nathan was 8 days late. We know that God already knows when this baby is coming and He has the perfect time picked out for the baby and for us.
In the meantime, I am going to go for a walk. :)
We'll keep you posted.
