Sometimes (very often, really) parenting can make you feel just plain dumb! If you are a parent, you probably know full well what I mean. There is so much to not know what or how or exactly when to do!
Today was NOT one of those days for me (so far). NO - today I was a true genius! (I'm just sayin'.)
Here's the deal. Yesterday the boys were sick with high fevers and very very lethargic all day. SO, as the doting Mommy, I held them and snuggled them. We read books and cuddled all day. TODAY they are on the mend. Their fevers are down and energy is up up up! AND my fever is up and my energy down down down. :-(
This sets up a difficult predicament. How do I manage the day with two high energy boys when I just want to drink hot drinks and be still and quiet???
ANSWER - a bubble bath and a good book! I wanted one, but knew that was not an option. BUT I could (and did) stick them in the bubble bath with Johnson's Vapor rub bubbles for babies, bring in a stool for myself, a good book, and a hot drink, and shut the door behind us all.
So there they played (contained). There I sat in steamy vapor rub smelling goodness with a great book in hand. GENIUS!!
The bottle of vapor rub bubbles asserts, "soothes babies with colds." I would affirm that statement, even when the "baby" with a cold is the Mommy!

follow-up from the video in the last post
First off, if you have not watched the video in the last post, you will want to do that before reading this one - or it just won't make any sense. :-)
We went to Christmas eve candle-light service with family. When the Pastor stood up to speak and said he wanted to read from 1 John 4:9-10, Noah confidently yelled out, "I know 1 John 4:9 - it's about Jesus!"
Mine and Richard's hearts melted! It STUCK - it really stuck! I was so excited and proud of him. I really thought he just had memorized it for the 30 seconds of the video - I had no idea he would actually recall it and know what it was about.
That seed is planted firmly in him - and will not return void!
What a wonderful Christmas!!!!
