i am often asked "are you a stay at home mom?" "do you work?" "why don't you work more?"
i work only approx 12 hrs/week so that i can stay home w/ my son the rest of the time. (on mondays i work during his morning nap while richard is home, on wednesday richard and him spend the day together while i am gone) it is important to me to care for him and raise him at home. God has blessed me in my role as a wife and mom with the ability to stay home and tend to the house and raise our son, and help my husband in any way that i can.
He has also blessed me w/ a wonderful job that i love. He gave me the strength and the wisdom to be successful at school. He put family and friends around me to support me through those years. (you know full well who you are!) He has given me a passion to serve others in the way i do when i am working.
nothing, NOTHING is more important than training Nathan in the way to grow. "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6
my decrease in working hours necessated a closer look into our spending choices, but after all - NO ONE ever looks back to the years their children were growing up and says "you know, i really wish i had worked more!" these times are precious
raising our children is THE most important job we, as mothers have. it is the only specifically named God ordained job for us - that no one else can do the way we can. that being said - putting food on the table - definitely important. man can't live on bread alone, but steak and lobster are not a necessity.
